Island Brothers Teriyaki does Teriyaki, plain and simple! While some restaurants try to be all things for all people, Island Brothers are specialists and they do it well. They have reduced the complexities of running a restaurant down to a very smooth operation.

To say that they have a simple menu is an understatement. Their menu consists of teriyaki chicken on a skewer ($6.75), teriyaki beef on a skewer ($6.95) and a combo which is one skewer of each ($6.75). Their side dishes are steamed white rice and a delicious shredded cabbage salad with a sesame oil and slightly sweet vinegar dressing. That’s it folk’s but it is very, very tasty. Portion sizes are ample, eight ounces of beef (which is the size of a luncheon steak you would get in a steakhouse) and ten ounces of chicken. A testimony to their service, value and quality is the volume they do. The day I was there I counted 39 skewers being cooked on their grill. They have two locations that combined sell about 400 lbs of chicken a day.

Their operation would be the envy of any restaurant manager, it is focused and easy. Their quick service is equivalent to fast food. You pay for your food in advance and then pick it up at the counter. You can expect the meal to be exactly the same each time you visit. This success of this restaurant isn’t by accident, the owners of this restaurant are very experienced and their approach to business is well thought out.

They are especially proud of their teriyaki sauce that they market under the name of “Surf Brothers Teriyaki”. They are starting to sell it to markets and other retailers. They also provide catering which is a large part of their business.

Well, we have done it again folks. Here is a no frills restaurant with good food, good friendly service and value.
