In these times of high gasoline prices and increasing expenses. Have you ever walked out of a restaurant and thought “Overpriced”. Well, Happy Chang is a welcome relief. Happy Chang is all about great value, my oh my. Folks, you must try this restaurant. Happy Chang’s tasty recipes come directly from Thailand where the proprietors Randy and his wife Supawdee Permpoon were born. Supawdee inherited her love of cooking from her mother and grandmother. She began cooking at the age of 6. Somehow, you can feel her love of cooking in the food she prepares. When you eat there you will experience what it is like to eat in Thailand without the travel expenses. The restaurant is in a small older shopping center in need of a facelift, but once you experience the food you will return. For starters, the Fresh Spring Roll appetizer is just that, “rice paper” stuffed with very fresh ingredients, the taste is superb. Try their home made soup, the Tom-Khar (#6)” is a medley of flavors including coconut milk, lime leaves, lemon grass, Thai chili pepper, mushroom and lime juice. The Seafood Green Curry (#24) is outstanding. Thai curry tends to be very spicy and I recommend you order “mild” which still has a bite. The homemade peanut sauce for dipping is so good it should be bottled. The Happy Chang Thai Yellow Rice (#28) again is very tasty. It certainly deserves a more enticing name. We tested the menu in-depth for this review, including Spicy Beef Salad (#12) and Spicy Spaghetti (#18). All of the dishes passed with flying colors.
